Bookkeeper - Part Time

Bookkeeper wanted for Active Tools & John Ewans Design , a Twyford based specialist sports equipment company (Rowing) and a Product design consultancy. Part Time position with flexible hours.

You will manage our financial operations, ensuring accurate record-keeping. Your role will require adaptability, with responsibilities ranging from general bookkeeping to payroll processing. Our accounts are currently on Sage software, but to better integrate with our website one of your first tasks will be to migrate our accounts to either Quickbooks or Xero (so experience with one of those platforms is required).

Hours of work - 2 days a week - negotiable, within the parameters of Monday - Friday, 9.0 to 5.30pm

Position can be remote/hybrid/office based (some office time is preferred but not essential)

Payroll Duties:

• Process payroll.


• Ensure accurate calculation of wages and tax and other deductions.


• Prepare and submit PAYE and National Insurance contributions.


• Maintain and update payroll records.


• Manage year-end payroll tasks, including P60s.


Bookkeeping Duties:

• Record daily financial transactions and complete the posting process.


• Verify that transactions are recorded properly in the relevant ledger.


• Bring the books to the trial balance stage.


• Enter data, maintain records, and create reports and financial statements.
