Full Job Description

  • To provide training/matchday cover to Academy players (mostly Saturday/Sunday mornings and/or weekday evenings) within a flexible rota

  • Complete emergency medical equipment checks prior to matches

  • Diagnosis and treatment of acute injuries and trauma management pitchside of games.

  • Knowledge of acute injury management programs and injury prevention strategies.

  • Record all matchday injuries and treatment delivered, and handover to Head of Academy Medical

  • Refer injured players for additional assessment/treatment as appropriate (A&E, GP, Club Doctor)

  • Understanding of growth and maturation and its implications on the development of athletes

  • Effective and appropriate communication skills, and high standards of professionalism.

  • Awareness of the expectations of a Category 2 Academy according to the EPPP

  • To ensure that any concerns you observe, or are raised with you in your role, are shared with the Safeguarding Team through appropriate channels.

    We are looking for pro-active individuals with a forward-thinking and problem-solving attitude, who understands their scope of practice, and who seeks to develop their skills., Undergraduate Physiotherapy or Sports Therapy Degree or equivalent field


  • ATMMiF or ITMMiF qualification


  • Able to work matchdays, including evenings and weekends

  • Able to commit to regular requests to attend training sessions and games as


  • required (inclusive of 1 away game per month)
  • Able to drive with access to own vehicle


  • Able to work in a team and independently

  • FA Safeguarding Certification
