Charity Trustee (Volunteer)

At Candlelighters, our mission is to provide hope, support, and practical assistance to those navigating the challenges of childhood cancer. From emotional support to financial assistance, we strive to be a beacon of light for families in their darkest times., As a Trustee, you will be responsible for ensuring that Candlelighters complies with its governing document, charity law, company law, and other relevant legislation or regulations. Key duties include:

• Setting strategic direction and overall policy


• Safeguarding the organization's values


• Ensuring effective administration and financial stability


• Protecting and managing charity property and funds


Other Duties:

In addition to statutory duties, Trustees should use their specific skills, knowledge, and experience to help the Board reach sound decisions. This will involve scrutinizing board papers, leading discussions, providing guidance, and making recommendations.

The role will be subject to a DBS check, and a 'Fit and Proper' person's declaration will be required.
