Full Job Description

As an Electrical Technician / Engineer, your primary function will be to implement and support electro-mechanical test systems. An electrical biased engineer with hydro-mechanical experience, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of electrical interfacing, PLC / HMI systems and all related controls to company standards. You will develop the electrical interface systems within the Test facility and be the point of contact for the electrical facility support.

As a member of the Test Services Team based in the UK your primary function is to implement and support electro-mechanical test systems. Reporting to a Test Engineering Group Leader you will work with initiative whilst demonstrating your technical competence of electro-mechanical systems, data acquisition techniques, and have a willingness to broaden your experience of qualification testing.

You will be responsible for the developing of the electrical interface systems within the Test facility and be the point of contact for electrical facility support.

  • Time served Apprenticeship, HNC/HND or BEng degree, plus relevant work experience

  • strong understanding of electrical safety

  • Electrical circuit design and installation

  • PLC / HMI programing Design and implementation. .

  • Motor control, electrical actuation and power generation equipment

  • Some understanding of hydraulic circuit functionality and servo hydraulic systems. (Closed loop and open loop systems)

  • Knowledge Control system, data acquisition and instrumentation implementation would be advantageous but not essential.

  • Knowledge of electrical calibration of transducers.

  • Knowledge of testing techniques such as strength, fatigue and environmental would be advantageous.

  • Task management skills to meet exact requirements and deliver customer satisfaction.

  • Proficient in MS IT packages such as Excel and Word and the compilation of technical reports.

  • Clear communication skills allowing you to liaise with customers and suppliers alike.

  • Able to supervise specific tasks or activities.
