Full Job Description

To independently handle all financial controls within the charity which the applicant must be able to organise and prioritise. The main tasks and responsibilities include:

· Accurately classify and record financial transactions using Sage accounting software, ensuring all financial data is correctly entered and maintained

· Ensure that all bank transactions are processed and the bank accounts are reconciled promptly

· Adhere to bank tolerance levels & ensure funds are available on the charity bank cards

· Raising invoices & effective credit control

· Review, validate, and process invoices for payment- ensuring proper coding & approvals were obtained

· Assisting the CEO with forecasting

· Production of monthly management accounts including analysis of variances to budget

· Work with budget holders to keep under review all expenditure and to maximise best value for money in relation to suppliers and contracts

· Distribution of monthly financial information to the Finance Sub Group

· Ensure accurate monthly payroll information is presented to the payroll provider in a timely manner

· Liaise effectively with management & HR

· Cashing cheques/cash received

· Maintain capital assets register

· Prepare information and attend the Finance Sub Group meetings as required

· Year end processes

  • Ideally be qualified to Level 4 AAT standard

  • Proven experience in a financial role with a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting

  • Proficiency in Sage accounting software

  • Proficiency with MS Office packages, Excel etc

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of maintaining positive relationships with customers, suppliers and team members

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping, Bachelor's (preferred), Finance: 1 year (preferred)
