Full Job Description

Nottingham City Care have an exciting opportunity for a registered Pharmacist to take on the role of Head of medicines management. This is a 9 month post to cover maternity leave.

As the Head of medicines management at CityCare you will interact and provide expert guidance to a range of staff from all professional groups in order to improve quality and patient safety. This job will provide the vital role of Medication Safety Officer (MSO) across the organisation, ensuring consistent and collaborative approach is taken within the medication safety agenda., To lead on all aspects of medication safety and governance, providing highly specialised pharmaceutical advice relating to the safer use of medicines within CityCare

To act as the Medication Safety Officer for CityCare, implementing and co-ordinating national patient safety alerts and improvement strategies.

Develop, undertake, and supervise medicines management audits within services and within specified location to encourage them to critically appraise their current practice and adopt best practice standards.

Facilitate the development of consistent standards of practice and policies in line with legislation, best practice, local and national guidelines.

Respond to queries and incidents related to medicines and offer suitable advice and support.

Manage and support the technician role. This will include work prioritisation, on-going support, supervision and monitoring of technician work.
