Horticultural Worker

Essential:

• Helping to serve our customers on the till during opening hours


• Maintaining the plants/stock area before openings hours and during the day when there are less/no customers to serve


• Irrigate plants using appropriate watering techniques


• Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the nursery premises


• Perform heavy lifting tasks to move plants, soil, and other materials around the nursery


• Assist with maintenance tasks


• Work in adverse weather conditions if required


• Ability to operate forklift or willingness to learn (training will be provided if required)


• Willingness to work weekends on a shift basis


Desired (or training will be provided if required):

• Utilise hand tools for planting, pruning, and maintaining plants


• Apply basic math skills for measuring and mixing soil and fertiliser


• Apply mechanical knowledge to operate and maintain nursery equipment
  
  We're expanding our team and seeking one candidate with basic understanding of gardening skills and essential knowledge of plants., Ability to lift and carry heavy objects repeatedly throughout the day


• Proficiency in using various hand tools for gardening tasks


• Knowledge of irrigation methods and techniques


• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to plant care


• Strong ability to maintain a clean and orderly work environment


• Mechanical knowledge for equipment operation and maintenance


• Relevant horticultural qualification/knowledge is a plus
