Full Job Description

As a manager, you will have a key role to play in working with Heads of Service and colleagues to ensure the successful delivery of the Housing service. As we enter a significant period of transformation, this newly created role requires strategic management and innovative thinking to develop and implement new ways of working, to ensure the increasing number of homes, built assets and land in our portfolio of stock meet current and future statutory and regulatory requirements. You will lead and motivate a large operational team, working county wide, adopting industry best practice and ensuring behavioural, quality and safety standards are adhered to.

The core focus of this job is the development and delivery of new construction via a large team of directly employed operational staff. Thus, supporting the Head of Service in the delivery of the councils Housing and Climate strategies. The postholder is responsible for; the health and safety of staff and clients; financial management of significant budgets; disseminating industry best practice; improving working practices through performance management and shared specialist knowledge and skills.

You will have comprehensive technical knowledge of housing construction and CDM regulations. And be experienced in delivering new build construction with extensive knowledge of the planning process and building regulations

You will have effective management / leadership experience with knowledge of budget and managing staff and performance. Excellent communication skills are a must, both written and oral with the ability to persuade, influence and negotiate as well as problem solve and implement solutions.
