Full Job Description

You will be involved in the growth and development of our leaving-care services, ensuring the delivery of outstanding quality care. This will include the efficient day-to-day running of the homes, quality control, managing your Team Leaders, and day-to-day management of support workers and seniors, who will be supporting you in your role.

You will lead, manage and support a team of Team Leaders, Support Workers and Seniors to deliver our services to our clients, working with your own team.

You will be operating within the structure of our business, you will work with colleagues who'll support you in your role, such as HR, recruitment, and finance. Importantly, you will also have the full support of our Head of Service, who will guide you through those first few weeks, and always be on hand to offer guidance and advice.

Key Responsibilities:

· Working alongside the Senior Service Manager, organising and implementing Support plans, and Risk Assessments.

· Promoting the highest standards of care and service to your team through mentoring, supervision, and modelling best practices.

· Managing senior staff to provide first-class service to our young people following Upwards Care Solutions processes, policies and quality systems.

· Overseeing all aspects of running the service including but not limited to supervision and appraisal of staff, rota planning and management, care planning, quality assurance, induction and training.

· Keeping up to date with new legislation, regulations, contracting authority guidelines, and communicating the same to all staff.

· Amending policies and procedures, producing new documents as required through changes or up-dates in legislation/ regulations/guidelines.

· Overall responsibility for the health and safety of our service users and staff.

· Possess great knowledge and understanding of the Minimum Standards and Framework Compliance Standards.

· Managing a team, making sure that exceptional service is delivered to our Young People ensuring workloads are managed accordingly.

· Ensuring successful operation of quality control systems and performing quality assurance visits for our homes.

· Effectively managing complaints and incidents, carrying out investigations relating to the quality of the service, and using those findings to initiate improvements.

· Be involved in the recruitment and selection of staff.

· Create opportunities for our service users to contribute to the local community and access local services.

· Supporting the professional development of the Team Leader and offering them guidance to enable them to support their staff and develop the service in line with statutory requirements and key priorities of Upwards Care Solutions.

· Analysing service data to identify areas for improvement and for reports.

· Positively representing the organisation and maintaining good relationships with Local Authorities.

You will have recognised qualification (NVQ Level 5 or commitment to work towards this) is essential. You will be an already established Service Manager or Senior Team Leader ready to make the progression into a more challenging role. You will be working closely with the current Service Managers and Senior Service Manager to help to lead the company into 16+ Ofsted registration in 2023.

You will be expected to have an understanding of the minimum standards of working with Local Authority Frameworks. You will also bring expertise in the field of safeguarding, managing change, supervision of staff and relevant legislation/ statutory guidance. You will ensure we deliver a high quality and effective service for our young people. You must have an understanding of the main issues relating to and factors impacting on, safeguarding young people from abuse or exploitation.

You will be passionate about outcomes for Children in Care. Enthusiasm and drive is a must for this role.
