Full Job Description

You will teach English across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach A-Level English Literature. You will be expected to contribute to the collaborative approach that we take as a team, both in terms of our curriculum planning and of our coaching culture.

The Team

The English Team boasts a wealth of diverse experience. Our team members include the Assistant Headteachers for Teaching and Learning and for Inclusion; a Reading and Literacy Tutor; a Teaching Assistant who conducts testing and screening, as well as a KS2 trained teacher who leads on our transition from Year 6. We can guarantee you will be well supported in your career as an English Teacher at Bridlington School!

We are extremely proud of our spiralled curriculum and the opportunities that we offer our students in the classroom and through our extra-curricular offer.

The English Department has its own 'block', being based in a stand-alone building with a work room, offices and a library. The library is a hub of reading and independent learning during lunchtimes, and it is run by our student librarians.
