Full Job Description

In this role you will lead the workplan for theT2024 Transfusion Research deliverable and will establish and develop a Transfusion Research Network (TRN) with the aims of increasing hospital clinical and laboratory participation in transfusion research. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Being the key contact for the TRN, consulting and working with key stakeholders, national groups, and members regarding TRN activities and projects.

  • Developing and implementing policies and service developments that improve transfusion research activity.

  • Leading the day-to-day running and strategic development of the TRN new network aiming to expediting the delivery of transfusion trials, providing evidence for improving outcomes and addressing health inequalities.

  • Managing and finalising the delivery and Key Performance Indicators of the TRN Work Plan, ensuring alignment with the aims of the Executive Group.

  • Providing transformational leadership and change management in preparing clinical and scientific staff to work in new ways, embracing innovation and technology including alternative settings.

  • Leading designated training days and conferences, providing engaging leadership to elicit audience participation. Providing direct line management to role and support to other members of the TRN network.

    This senior post will play a key role in leading the establishment of a Transfusion Research Network with the aims of increasing hospital clinical and laboratory participation in transfusion research. We are looking for an ambitious leader who has experience of delivering change and will use their transfusion and research expertise to plan improvements that will make a difference to patient care.


  • You will use your excellent communication skills to work closely with clinical and scientific leaders and will include close collaboration with patient groups.
