Full Job Description

To provide administration of the Finance department's suite of Reporting, Planning and Business Intelligence systems (Oracle Hyperion Essbase / Oracle Financials / IBM Certent Disclosure Management / IBM Clarity7 Planning & Forecasting). The role holder will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day management of those systems and fielding system administration queries.,

  • Day-to-day administration to ensure maintenance of systems

  • Application of technical knowledge to ensure support issues are appropriately fielded and managed

  • Monitoring of automated batch processes

  • Dealing with user queries in a timely manner

  • Documentation of procedures.

  • Taking part in System Testing, UAT, etc.

  • Supporting continuous improvement to meet changing business needs



  • The role requires a good understanding of Finance processes and some technical knowledge is also expected. The applicant should be able to demonstrate a technical ability in some field and an ability to analyse and problem solve process and system related issues. The role holder should have a basic understanding of Information Technology knowledge areas such as networking, storage, databases, security, etc.


  • Whilst the role is primarily focussed on delivering support for BAU activities, the post holder will have the opportunity to be involved in delivery of any new initiatives, system implementations and upgrades.

    Attention to detail and the ability to accurately follow procedures is essential. The successful applicant will be trained in the specific finance systems they will be responsible for administrating,
  • A good understanding of system development lifecycles.

  • Flexible approach to working hours, mainly around month end dates.

  • Highly PC literate, mainly in using Excel

  • Ability to communicate with staff and provide good customer service
