Full Job Description

As part of our commitment to deliver to customers ensuring financial success and project excellence, we are adding to the team here at A&P Tyne, recruiting a new Commercial Manager - Projects.

We're looking for a result driven, commercially focussed manager, to provide total commercial support to our projects overseeing project finances and maintaining accurate financial records while ensuring cost efficiency.

So, what will you do?

  • You'll be responsible for overseeing all of the commercial aspects of a project including contract management, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow

  • During and after repairs you'll maintain customer and sub-contractor accounts reporting the financial status of the projects to the company through to final settlement

  • Your primary goal, through the control measures that you put in place will be to maximise profitability while ensuring customers are satisfied maintaining high quality standards

  • You'll be working closely with various stakeholders including project managers and engineers, to ensure seamless project delivery

  • Ahead of projects you will assist preparing project proposals / estimates for all types of bid work including vessel based on labour hours, materials and subcontractor values from specifications and drawings

  • You'll assist Project Managers to evaluate and award sub contracts including negotiation and agreement of contracts variations with client, suppliers and sub-contractors

    A strong background in accounting principles, project management and cost control techniques

  • A degree or equivalent in a relevant area plus ACA / ACCA / CIMA / RICS or equivalent in qualification

  • Experience as a cost controller / project accountant / quantity surveyor or similar in construction, manufacturing or engineering

  • Strong working knowledge of accounting principles financial analysis and cost management techniques

  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems like SAP, Sage, Oracle or similar

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data

  • Effective relationship management, communication and interpersonal skills that facilitate collaboration across cross functional teams

  • Someone detail oriented with the ability to problem solve and make decisions while working under pressure meeting fast tight deadlines

  • Good judgement and high levels of integrity, professionalism and discretion
