+ The Data & Reporting Analyst will operate within the Programme Support Office (PSO) Data Team.
Job Purpose:
+ The Data & Reporting Analyst will be responsible for, and lead on, all PMO performance, monitoring and reporting outputs, enabling successful delivery at portfolio and programme level through analytical reporting and decision-making support through enhancement and development of existing dashboards and reports.
+ Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
+ Support the leadership in developing, enhancing and implementing a robust and effective corporate reporting, planning and performance framework
+ Build and lead a high performing, adaptive and resilient reporting and performance capability
+ Develop relationships with a wide range of stakeholders across UKRI and Government colleagues to foster an inclusive and joined-up approach to corporate reporting
+ Use corporate performance and monitoring data and analysis to inform and influence the strategic direction of the organisation and the decisions made by the CEO, steering boards and the senior leadership team
+ Support the delivery of the annual planning and quarterly performance reporting processes for the Challenge-led Funds and UKRI
+ Champion initiatives that help embed the importance of corporate reporting, planning and performance in the Challenge Funds
+ Support the Head of PSO and the wider senior leadership team in developing the PSO's reputation as a high performing and professional directorate
+ Communicate reporting and performance information effectively to a wide range of stakeholders, ensuring it is targeted at the appropriate level for the audience and purpose
+ Ensure complex information is translated into clear business options and recommendations, using a range of techniques including scenario-modelling, risk and impact analysis to enable senior decision-makers to make informed choices
+ Oversee the development of robust outcome-focused reporting and performance processes, that add value to the organisation without introducing unnecessary bureaucracy and waste.
+ Provide ad hoc reports for internal and external colleagues and stakeholders as and when required.

+ This effective and proactive individual will be an exceptional and highly experienced Data Analyst, used to working without close direction and able to manage multiple streams of work with a range of internal and external stakeholders
+ The post-holder will be highly flexible, capable of identifying the right approach to the task in hand and translating that approach into effective delivery
+ Ideally the successful applicant will have been exposed to many different project management approaches
+ The post holder will be a strong team player, and a pro-active self-starter
+ The post holder will have the ability to form effective relationships and liaise with senior management within the organisation
Experience:
Essential
+ Practical knowledge of Power BI (preferred) or Tableau
+ Experience of working in a corporate performance management role with an in-depth understanding of the opportunities and challenges in this area
+ Ability to think strategically and then translate into actionable plans
+ Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
+ Bring together views and perspectives of stakeholders to gain a wider picture of the landscape surrounding activities and policies
+ Experience of providing professional advice to senior staff, including a willingness to challenge preconception and offer well-reasoned and considered judgements to all levels of stakeholders
+ Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to quickly understand new and complex issues and to apply creative solutions
+ The ability to write a range of documents that draw on evidence to set out compelling arguments and justifications for recommendations
+ Highly self-motivated and resilient with the experience of working as an effective member of a team
+ Strong project management and prioritisation skills.
Desirable
+ Practical knowledge of Alteryx Designer or similar coding language (SQL preferred)
+ An understanding of how grant funding works across Government and ideally within UKRI
+ Knowledge of the Research and Innovation funding landscape
