Full Job Description

As a Driver / Handler, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Reporting to the Senior Driver you will ensure the provision of professional driving for all nominated tasks as required to meet or exceed customer and company expectations. Working with Babcock and RAF Stakeholders.

Day-to-day, you'll undertake any driving duties as required by the contract, as well as:

  • fuel bowser driving on shift to support flying operations, Daily/ weekly and any other maintenance and checks required to ensure vehicle safety and compliance to support flying operations,

  • Control all vehicle related administration within Babcock guidelines, and ensure all personal licences, medicals and competencies are maintained.

  • You will also assist in the ground movement of aircraft and be a key part in our flight-line operations.

  • You'll be preparing aircraft for the upcoming days flying, conducting see-in and see-off procedures as well as being authorised to carry out fuel and oil replenishment on the aircraft.


  • This role is full time and based onsite at RAF Benson.

  • Ability to work flexibly as part of a team.

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Good analytical/problem solving skills.

  • Awareness of general Health and safety

  • Working knowledge of Tacho graphs


  • Qualifications for the Driver / Handler
  • PSV, LGV, & ADR Qualified (candidates who do not hold all licenses will still be considered)

  • Clean Driving Licence

  • Working knowledge of Transport & Driver legal requirements

  • Meet eye colour vision of CP2/CP3 for airfield airside operations.


  • Security Clearance

    The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain BPSS Clearance
