Join our team at Hilton Garden Inn, Abingdon as the Groups, Reservations, Meetings & Events Manager, where you will play a pivotal role, reporting to our Cluster Revenue Manager to ensure we maximise all revenue opportunities for the business.

  • Assisting the Cluster Revenue Manager with the day to day running of the commercial office

  • Assisting the Cluster Revenue Manager & Director of Sales in driving the Top Line Budget and Forecast by executing a commercial strategy and business plan.

  • Deliver as a minimum the budgeted revenues across all revenue streams, to include but not limited; All Rooms, Groups, C&E, F&B with a control on cost of sale, route to market, channel shift and marketing / Ecommerce opportunities.

  • Work with the Cluster Revenue Manager & Director of Sales to ensure profits are maximised in line with TGOP and EBITDA targets set.

  • Assisting the Cluster Revenue Manager & Director of Sales and in driving the Top line Budget and Forecast by executing a commercial strategy and business plan. Deliver as a minimum the budgeted revenues across all revenue streams, to include but not limited; All Rooms, GC&E, F&B with a control on cost of sale, route to market, channel shift and marketing / Ecommerce opportunities.

  • Support various On Property teams in coordinating hotel level marketing, sales, and public relations activities.

  • Support the Cluster Revenue Manager to establish an optimal mix, review and validate forecasts, develop strategies for different demand periods, and review and approve retail and group pricing strategies.

  • Maximising room revenue contribution through a thorough understanding of all booking channels and management of inventory, content, and rates.

  • Assist the Cluster Revenue Manager to review/amend strategies accordingly in line with the evolving market conditions.

  • Participate in the leadership activity of the Hotel and Region.

  • Regularly use revenue business tools and intelligence to enhance performance.

  • Monitor Market Segments to ensure the correct assignment into all reservations, ensuring all bookings are correctly tracked.

  • Attend regular meetings with the Cluster Revenue Manager and HOD's to discuss pricing trends.

  • To maximise opportunities for departmental sales and profit and other related targets

  • To assist in the maximisation of room revenue, occupancy percentage and yield management.

  • To assist with sustaining and constantly improving the department's SOPs

  • Follow up with any outstanding payments related to Reservations.

  • To help maintain sound Health and Safety practices within the department and that any deviation is brought back on track with coaching and monitoring.

  • To own the Guest Experience Journey in your department and to collaborate with all departments to increase STAY experience scores


  • Growing the Business:
  • To approach sales opportunities positively and actively in order to maximise sales and to exceed budgeted targets.

  • To assist with keeping all Team Members sales focused and to maintain a selling culture throughout the department by implementing and managing sales trackers.

  • Ensure the Group, Conference, and Events (GCE) Sales Team Members are developed effectively and generate a culture of high-quality standards for relationship building, customer service, selling techniques, and billing and processing contracts.

  • To assist in implementing and suggesting new promotional opportunities to meet and exceed budget. This includes planning, implementation and review of promotions as directed by hotel leadership team.

  • To assist the Cluster Revenue Manager in attaining all departmental objectives linked with the hotel's business plan


  • Communication and Collaboration:
  • Cultivate strong relationships with clients, anticipating their needs and delivering personalized event experiences that exceed expectations.

  • Collaborate closely with the team to promote events and maximise attendance and revenue opportunities.

  • Coordinate effectively with various hotel departments, including Reception, Food and Beverage, Housekeeping, and Maintenance, to ensure flawless event execution.

  • Focus on delivering exceptional experiences for event attendees, leveraging creative ideas and innovative solutions to enhance engagement and satisfaction.

  • Proactively address any attendee concerns or special requests, ensuring a seamless and memorable experience for all guests.

  • Follow-up post event, with all clients and attendees to continuously improve event offerings and service quality, driving positive word-of-mouth and repeat business.


  • Risk Management and Compliance:
  • Identify and assess potential risks associated with events, developing comprehensive contingency plans to mitigate them effectively.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and legal regulations, as well as hotel policies and procedures.

  • Monitor event budgets and expenditures, identifying opportunities for cost savings and revenue optimization while maintaining high-quality standards.

  • Attend operational and business review meetings, presenting to senior management.

    Proven experience in event planning and management, particularly with group meetings and corporate events.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric approach and the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
