HGV Technician

Ensure repairs are conducted according to manufacturer's procedures, safely and responsibly
Diagnose faults with the vehicles
Complete warranty work where applicable and adhere to the warranty repair requirements
Road test vehicles when required (if you hold an HGV licence)
Complete job cards in the specified way
Ensure service sheets are completed on the provided computer system
Ensure all vehicle defects are reported
Keep all workshop facilities, equipment, and tools clean, tidy, and well maintained
Wear personal protective equipment when appropriate

Role Description

Here at M and M Commercials, you will undertake a varied range of work duties, the type of work caries on a day-to-day basis but includes servicing of vehicles, accident repair, breakdowns and general truck faults. We also cover a range of car and commercial non-HGV vehicles so there is always a varied selection on offer.

The role will be carrying out minor repairs of vehicles. The role will involve communicating with our service department and technicians and engaging with our customers to provide advice and technical feedback when required. You will need to maintain training standards and up to date product knowledge.

The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate previous experience in a similar role, You'll hold a City and Guilds, an NVQ3 or an equivalent qualification. You'll also have completed an apprenticeship in the HGV industry, or have equivalent experience, along with relevant experience in the commercial vehicle industry.
Finally, we'd expect you to have a basic working knowledge of vehicle technology.
