Junior Data Annotator

Working closely with the Research team, the key responsibilities of this role include;

• Reviewing sections of video data and marking the events that occur in the video, for example marking when a person is sitting on the edge of the bed


• Annotating images by highlighting the location of people or objects within the image.


This role has a particular focus on process and tooling iteration including identifying how the process of data annotation and the related annotation software can be made faster and more efficient. Depending on your interests and career ambitions, in time there may be scope to help improve the tooling yourself and learn software skills in the process.

There are no specific skills requirements for this role. As this role will involve working alongside the research team in a fast growing medical software company, we think this role could be a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested in science and healthcare related technology.

Our Oxevision platform enables staff both to plan patient care and to intervene proactively to help patients. Unlike conventional remote patient monitoring companies, Oxevision includes a contact-free optical sensor which detects patient vital signs and behaviour and delivers a secure on demand video feed.

Oxevision provides staff with a wider range of clinically validated early warning signs and risk factors than any other technology plus the ability to check the patient visually before choosing their intervention.

Our Oxehealth Service supports customers to deploy the Oxevision platform and to use it to create proactive, data-enabled systems of care that deliver not only a step change on deploying the system but also year on year continuous improvement in safety, quality and cost efficiency.

Nurses often tell us that they can't imagine going back to a world without our solution and consider our Oxevision platform a "6th member of the team" that "just sets up safety for their patients.''

In 2018 we obtained our world-first medical device certification (contact free pulse and breathing rate with an optical sensor) and grew deployments by 10x. In 2019 we delivered our first commercial scale contracts and the business continued to rapidly scale through 2020 and into 2021. We are now contracted to 1 in 3 of English Mental Health Trusts. In March 2021 we received FDA approval to market our product in the United States, a market with huge strategic potential for Oxehealth and in 2023 we turned out our system in our first US hospital.

Your role: Annotate data to support the development of our algorithms

Oxehealth is looking for a Junior Data Annotator to join the Research team annotating video data from experiments and customer sites. This person will play a key role in helping to improve our understanding of how our algorithms perform in real life and this will enable our researchers to continue to improve our algorithms which ultimately will help clinicians care for their patients.
