Full Job Description

  • Lead the estimating process and production of estimates for the business

  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation throughout the tender process

  • Lead and promote a client focused culture throughout the estimating function

  • Lead, manage and develop the estimators to deliver winning tenders


  • Key Activities

  • Review customers drawings and specifications to prepare accurate costing sheets for materials, labour and equipment

  • Manage and coordinate subcontract package quotes in support estimates for tenders, including detailed analysis of subcontractor quote returns

  • Manage and coordinate the risks and opportunities evaluation process for tenders, ensuring that cost estimates are accurate and reflect the project requirements and risk profile

  • Prepare tender approval papers ensuring accuracy and validity of all cost elements and cost information for tender submissions for Board approval

  • Provide considered responses to customer questions including post tender queries

  • Manage and coordinate an effective handover of bid documentation to the project commercial team

  • Manage customer contact, present tender proposals to customers and contribute to customer meetings during the tender process.

    Computer literate and proficient in the Microsoft Office suite

  • Must be a hardworking individual who is willing to learn

  • Must have effective written and verbal communication

  • Some experience in the industry at some level would be beneficial

  • Should be able to focus on attention to detail

  • Must be able to manage their time efficiently
