Full Job Description
This academic year, we have seen a significant increase in the number of students with Autism joining our study programmes based at Common Leys, as such we are recruiting for a part-time lead FEAST Advisor for the campus.
The role demands a good knowledge of neurodiversity and Autism spectrum conditions, it will involve managing the Green Room, 1:1 mentoring of students, study support, contributing to meetings and developing communication and interaction programmes using a range of creative strategies. The role may also include leading and mentoring Autism advisors where appropriate.
The role extends outside of the Green Room into the classroom therefore, experience of supporting and/or teaching students with Autism is essential and will involve leading training sessions on neurodiversity for teaching and support staff.
The Lead FEAST Advisor will be an excellent communicator, have the ability to develop relationships with external professionals, parents/carers and internal stakeholders to ensure that individual student needs are planned for and met thereby ensuring every learner achieves their full potential. Applicants will hold a qualification in neurodiversity and/or Autism or would be willing to work towards gaining accreditation whilst in the role
£31,426 - £34,238 per annum,
37 hours per week
The working pattern is Monday to Thursday 7.5 hours per day, Friday 7 hours per day
38 weeks per annum, paid for 43.13 weeks per annum
