Full Job Description

Work alongside our managers across the business to maximize the effectiveness of colleagues at all levels in their roles by determining development needs and implementing and evaluating effective learning solutions.

Key Outputs

  • Identify the learning and development needs of colleagues at all levels.

  • Design learning and development plans based on identified learning needs.

  • Design and deliver appropriate bespoke learning solutions to help everyone improve effectiveness in their role, including e - learning as appropriate.

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve effectiveness of groups of individuals with similar learning and development needs.

  • Provide developmental feedback and coaching to individuals to help them improve and develop their behaviours, skills and performance.

  • Support managers in identifying gaps in knowledge and make recommendations on how to improve individuals' expertise.

  • Carry out evaluation and analysis of learning interventions and act on feedback where necessary to ensure continuous improvement of an individuals' personal development.


  • Learning and Development Support for the wider business

  • Supporting the business when required to facilitate strategic business induction and development for new starters.

  • Make recommendations as appropriate regarding learning needs across the wider business and thereafter, leading and coordinating the design, delivery and implementation of learning solutions.

  • Provide personal development interventions for the wider business as required.

  • Work with the Training and Competence team to ensure Consumer Duty principles are embedded within all activities as a matter of course.

  • Work with the wider HR team to address identified development needs.

  • Maintain record of all training activities carried out and provide reports as necessary.

  • Maintain a good working knowledge of the market in which the Company operates, including competitor activity and regulatory updates.

  • Maintain a good understanding of the Company's commercial performance and contribute towards commercial improvements where possible.

  • Other ad-hoc duties as and when required by the business from time to time.

    Approachable, organised individual with a proven ability to embrace and develop a culture of colleague improvement and personal development that underpins a successful environment where the customer is key.


  • An excellent communicator and motivator with the ability to interact at all levels and adapt coaching and training delivery to suit the needs of audience.

    As a stand alone L&D practitioner, be comfortable with managing all stages of the learning and development cycle.,
  • Learning and Development background

  • Able to demonstrate knowledge and experience in all stages of the learning cycle

  • Proven ability to mentor and coach individuals on sales, customer service and people skills, including managing a team

  • Ability to develop, implement and present group and individual learning courses/sessions in management, skills and behavioural topics

  • Experience of management development

  • Ability to work on own initiative

  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment

  • Ability to deliver effective solutions to both onsite and fieldbased colleagues, using face to face, digital and blended learning, Desirable

  • Appropriate learning and development qualification

  • Experience in the financial services industry

    £30,000-£34,000 depending on skills and experience

    Hours of work

    37.5 hours per week (hours of work will be flexible and dictated by the needs of the business, therefore it is expected that the successful applicant will work those hours necessary to successfully discharge the duties of the role).,
