Full Job Description

The purpose of this role is to coordinate the design, development, testing and introduction of new features within the lighting team. The role requires the individual to propose and support delivery of innovative lighting features across the JLR product portfolio.,

  • Primary responsibility to ensure timely delivery of vehicle features into programmes, identifying and removing any roadblocks that may prevent success.

  • Manage vehicle test plans, including detailed planning of test and development stages through to sign off and support Engineering test teams with rectification of issues.

  • Resolve issues with component engineering and vehicle attribute teams to develop designs that meet targets.

  • Ensure all appropriate JLR standards are met through-out design maturation.

  • Lead new feature development.

  • Keep all feature documentation up to date including:

  • + Feature statements of intent
    + Quality history & market feedback
    + Confluence
  • Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested.

  • Drive feature maturity status to target level for key programme milestones.

  • Identification and communication of critical paths and dependencies within vehicle program plan

  • Lead resolution of key integration issues to assist achieving ESO for all features on time.

  • Close alignment with vehicle program planners/core VE team to communicate and align status and plans.

    Significant experience in the integration and delivery of electrical, electromechanical or software systems.

  • Demonstrated experience of technical analysis and employing best-in-class processes in engineering.

  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills - able to collaboratively influence delivery teams across the engineering function.

  • Thorough understanding and experience of key vehicle systems and whole vehicle systems engineering.

  • Proven ability to interpret and use technical data along with business skills with technical decision-making.

  • Experience of engineering product delivery using project management techniques.

  • Experience of managing individual performance and team management.
