Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen in Preston to appoint two permanent full time 37 hours/week Neighbourhood Group Workers.

Neighbourhood Group Workers are operational frontline delivery staff.

Post holders will be primarily involved in the preparation, delivery and evaluation of group based programmes delivered through family focussed Neighbourhood Centres. They will ensure that individual and group needs are identified and responded to and that their work is appropriately recorded. They will use agreed tools to measure the progress made by individuals and groups towards substantial and sustained change e.g. radars. They will escalate any identified needs of families/individuals to Family Support Workers within their team where they may benefit from more targeted one to one support.

Teams will be identified with an appropriate skill mix to ensure that programmes can be tailored to meet the different needs of children, young people and parents and can accommodate a variety of delivery methods, including drop-ins, regularised open and closed groups, activity and evidence based programmes.

Neighbourhood Group Workers will operate mainly (but not exclusively) during the daytime and twilight operational hours which normally could potentially range between 8am and up until around 6.30pm. Flexible working is required and some occasional involvement in evening and weekend delivery sessions may be required to meet the needs of families.

Neighbourhood Group Workers will be line managed by the appropriate Senior Family Support Worker
