Full Job Description

We are passionate about developing and improving cancer services at UHSussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) team for Neuro-oncology is looking for a motivated, flexible, and resilient band 6 CNS to join our team. Working with the guidance and support of the CNS matrons and wider CNS teams, the post holder will provide individualised patient-centred care for those who have been diagnosed with neurological cancers.

The post holder will also be leading service development and improvement at the Haywards heath and Brighton site and working collaboratively across the trust to improve communication within the MDT.

We are a dynamic, motivated, and supportive team, who work flexibly to meet the needs of the whole service and improve it while supporting each other. Primarily based at Brighton.

The cancer division is currently developing consistent standards of care and collaborative working across the Trust. The post holder will be instrumental in reviewing and improving communication and pathways between the multidisciplinary teams involved in the patient's care and management - involvement in service improvement projects is required.

To be computer literate and assist in appointment management and planning.

To work effectively with the medical team and support the Doctors in routine clinics.

Management of neurological cancer symptoms such as seizures and steroid management.
