Full Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen within Resident and Business Support for an Operations Manager (Service). This is one of three positions within the service who have management responsibility for individual areas of the business.

The position of the service is a Career Graded role which will initially be recruited to manage one specific part of the service. The role covers three distinct areas (Social Care Finance Services, Revenues and Centralised Collection Services, and Benefits and Financial Support Services).

Once the individual can demonstrate that they are competent within two or more Management areas within the service, the postholder will move onto the higher position (Grade M).

We are currently looking to recruit a dynamic individual to oversee the management of our Social Care Finance service functions and provide direction for the service to ensure the Council's vision, goals and core values are achieved.

The successful candidate will have senior responsibility for financial payments and client charging, whilst ensuring customers receive an excellent level of customer service when dealing with all Social Care Finance services.

The role will also be the service lead when working with both Adult Services and Children's Services therefore the ability to work collaboratively across numerous Directorates is essential. As the recovery of debt is vital to the Council, the postholder will also play an integral role in maximising all options to secure debts, whilst ensuring efficient and robust processes are in place to secure recovery at the earliest opportunity.
