PERMANENT FULL TIME HEAD OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION

TLR 2b

Main Scale or UPS

Required from September 2024

Cromwell Community College, a member of the Active Learning Trust, is an all-through school which aspires to be outstanding and we want our Physical and Health Education Department to be a driving force towards this aspiration.

We are therefore looking to appoint an inspirational Head of Physical and Health Education to lead the delivery of outstanding lessons and extra-curricular opportunities within the subject at Cromwell Community College from EYFS to Key Stage 5.

You should have excellent subject knowledge and a passion to develop and deliver the Physical and Health Education curriculum to all ages. We have a strong uptake of pupils at Key Stage 4 and there are high levels of participation in the subject at all levels of the college, including extra-curricular activities.

If you are enthusiastic, ambitious and passionate about physical and health education, recognising its importance for the development of all pupils from Early Years to Sixth Form, and will strive to provide excellent results in our already successful department, we would like to hear from you.

We are a popular, over-subscribed and successful school. In September 2020 we became an all-through school with the introduction of an Early Years Foundation Stage class (Reception) and we will have classes up to Year 3 in September 2023. It is imperative that we ensure our pupils access a curriculum which is relevant and ambitious throughout their journey at Cromwell.

At Cromwell, our staff are determined, resourceful and tireless in their pursuit of the best outcomes for all pupils. Staff are hardworking, enthusiastic and committed. This is an excellent time to join the department to support the college's drive to become outstanding.

We can offer you an excellent opportunity for career progression both within the college, and the Trust, as well as a supportive professional environment with a highly visible and ambitious leadership team.

The Active Learning Trust is a family of primary, secondary and special schools based across Suffolk and Cambridgeshire. Since our creation in 2012 we have worked successfully in partnership with our schools to ensure the very best outcomes for every child and young person who we have the privilege to teach. At the heart of our Trust are the dedicated teams of teaching and support staff based in our schools, supported by the leadership and expertise of our Central Team.
