Full Job Description

To be part of the pre-school team under the direction of the manager. To provide safe, high quality education and care for young children which meets the individual needs of children attending the setting.

Your main duties will include;

  • to be an effective role-model for the children

  • to deliver learning opportunities through interaction and play

  • to work within our team to support the children and their families

  • to build positive relationships with all children

  • to ensure a safe childcare environment and ensure the children always feel safe and secure

  • to attend relevant training and professional development as necessary

  • to follow our setting's policies and procedures

    We are currently seeking to appoint an reliable, hard working and highly motivated people to join our team. Candidates will have a level 3 Early years childcare qualification or a level 2 and willing to work towards a level 3 and will have at least 1 year experience in a n Early years childcare setting.


  • Salary range £11.50 - £11.80 per hour, depending on experience.

    This position is for flexible hours depending on need, Monday - Friday term time only.

    Due to the nature of the role the successful applicant must have a clear enhanced DBS check, be registered with the update service and provide satisfactory references.

    > Good safeguarding knowledge
    > A sound understanding of equal opportunities.
    > A positive and understanding approach to behaviour management.
    > Excellent written, verbal and organisational skills.
    > Excellent reflective and evaluation skills.
    > A good knowledge and understanding of how children learn and develop.
    > A sound knowledge of the EYFS.
    > A commitment to keeping up to date with ongoing training.
    >GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above (or equivalent).
