Full Job Description

To support our continued expansion, we are looking for a Product Assembly Technician to join the Company within our manufacturing facility. The role requires a hands-on individual who will assemble electronic and electro-mechanical sub-assemblies, products and systems to existing drawings and work instructions.

Main Duties

  • Sub-assembly, unit build and system integration in accordance with production build instructions and drawings

  • Completion of build and quality checklists ensuring a high degree of build-quality

  • Assemble prototype and qualification units, working closely with the Design and Development department, including manufacture of sheet metal prototypes

  • Rework of mechanical assembly components i.e. cutting, drilling, filing etc.

  • Stock and kit checking to ensure parts available for build to commence

  • Cable and harness assembly in accordance with IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards (class 3)

  • Rework of electronic assemblies at PCB level soldering to IPC-A-610 & IPC-J-STD-001 standards (class 3)

  • Perform pre-shipment quality checks

  • Maintain that the work area is clean, safe and orderly

    Demonstrable experience in electronic/electro-mechanical assembly

  • Excellent attention to detail and quality

  • Qualified to IPC-A-610 / IPC/WHMA-A-620 / IPC-J-STD-001

  • Ability to work with little supervision

  • Effective oral and written communication skills


  • Additional Skills
  • Experience in the assembly of RF electrical and mechanical equipment would be advantageous

  • Knowledge of AS9100 and ISO9001 quality standards would be beneficial, Mechanical assembly: 2 years (required)
