Control Group are specialists in the specification and installation of integrated electronic systems predominantly to the commercial market. The Project Engineer role is a highly responsible position which requires someone who has the ability to manage client expectations, take ownership of operational projects ensuring corporate responsibilities in terms of profitability and client satisfaction., The company's Head Office is in the Cheshire area and travel to the office will be required on occasion however the main location of the role will be in and around London, with some European travel.

Job Role:

To work under the direction of the Operations Director to oversee the install and commission large integrated electronic security systems; primarily CCTV, Access Control, Alarm, IT and AV applications and on some occasions Fire systems. Close links must also be maintained with the remainder of the engineering department and the remote support desk.

This is a responsible job that will involve a great deal of self-directed field work and liaison with clients, IT departments and suppliers at all levels. You will be required to provide and manage technical support, documentation and training, on and off site, to clients and field engineers. This role entails some low-level management of sub-contractors on site ensuring that health and safety requirements are met., While the exact responsibilities will vary, the main duties of the Project Service Engineer can be summarised as follows:

  • Complex technical support of client installation and repair of CCTV, DVRs, Access Control (Inc. Biometrics &, Turnstiles), AV, networked IT systems, routers, switches and servers.

  • Support the installation, commissioning, service and maintenance of TCP/IP and networking (this function is heavily supported by the group remote IT support desk)

  • Review project plan by reviewing design, specifications, plan and schedule changes; recommending actions as necessary.

  • Maintain service schedule by liaising closely with the Support Desk, monitoring progress, coordinating resources and resolving problems.

  • Review products performance and liaise with the Support Desk Manager with any concerns

  • Maintain product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.

  • Complete Small Works, Service & Maintenance Calls as well as installation works.

  • Liaison with clients, external IT departments and suppliers at all levels.

  • Provision and management of technical support, documentation and training on and off site for clients and field engineers.

  • Ensure quality control best practice/best value at all times.

    An advanced understanding of CCTV, Access Control (including Biometrics & Turnstiles), AV, intruder alarms, networked IT systems, routers, switches and servers. Knowledge or previous experience of Fire systems is advantageous.

  • An understanding of the requirements of NSI Accreditation

  • Being influential, confident and motivated with clear communications with the Support Desk.

  • Organisation and resolving technical support cases.

  • Being objective, flexible and independent.

  • French speaking is essential (this role will support our customers in France), security systems: 2 years (required)
