Full Job Description

As a Quality Improvement Engineer Shildon you will work within our high performing team of quality professionals. Within this role you will provide Technical and Industry guidance to assist in the continuous development of, and raising of standards within the Business System at PPG Shildon., · Use Lean and Statistical Tools/Techniques to ensure an effective Corrective Action process within the Operations group.

· Co-ordinating and supporting the technical and process groups in local improvement projects.

· Assisting the Quality Assurance Manager in the development, maintenance and communication of the company Quality Assurance system

· Support EMEA Quality team and Shildon Operations group to drive robust corrective actions and reviewing timely closure and effectiveness of internal and external Non-Conformance

· Assisting the Quality Manager in the preparation, conducting an follow up of customer, third party and supplier quality audits, and the maintenance of Quality system and product approvals.

· Fostering and promoting a culture of continuous quality improvement, supporting the development and improvement of departmental working practices and standards.

· Support, and assist in the training of the Quality Inspectors to ensure that products and processes comply with Customer and Industry requirements, and the relevant requirements of the quality management system.

· To monitor and audit the application of QC Test Methods throughout the organisation, taking action, where required, to ensure that they are correctly implemented and meet all internal and external standards and requirements

· To support a gauge R&R programme to ensure that Test Methods are accurate, appropriate, and consistently applied, and to fulfil major customer requirements.

· Develop and maintain the relevant documentation and records to ensure compliance with the Quality System including support of operations departmental procedures

· Knowledge and experience with Lean Six Sigma tools/ techniques including SPC, FMEA, Standard Operations, Lean, Sigma Logic, Problem Solving Documents etc

· Degree in science, engineering or similar discipline or 3 years' experience in a quality, process or technical background

· Possess an understanding of International AS9100 and other Quality systems standards.

· Strong IT knowledge and skills.

· Good communication skills(verbal and written)

· Audited trained
