Full Job Description

You will be a key member of the Probabilistic Safety Assessment team (PSA), responsible for the numerical analysis of the risk associated with operating the Royal Navy's nuclear submarine fleet, and production of associated safety case documentation.

  • Numerical Analysis and Risk Assessments

  • Undertake Risk Studies using Event Tree and Fault Tree Analysis

  • Produce Safety Case Documentation


  • The PSA team undertakes risk studies utilising Event Tree and Fault Tree analysis techniques which, generally require a degree of collaboration with other departments within RR Submarines. Tasks range from prompt responses to emergent requests from the customer to long-term planned safety campaigns.

  • Nuclear Safety Case experience

  • Degree in Engineering, Maths, Physics or equivalent.

  • A demonstrable ability to work in multidisciplinary teams to tight deadlines.

  • Experience or knowledge of using PSA related software, such as Reliability Workbench would be beneficial (Training will be provided)

    To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines you need to hold a S ecurity Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don't currently already have this in place.
