Full Job Description

As the Senior Finance Business Partner, you'll serve as a trusted advisor to senior management, delivering expert financial guidance and strategic recommendations to drive business objectives forward. Your role involves spearheading financial planning and analysis (FP&A) processes, spanning one-year, three-year, and ten-year financial projection cycles.

You'll conduct planning, monthly and ad hoc performance analysis reviews to evaluate business performance and pinpoint areas for enhancement. Overseeing month-end and planning activities, including the preparation of financial results for reporting to the board and executive committee (Exco), falls within your purview.

Additionally, you'll manage group cost base planning and analysis, cost allocation and modelling processes to ensure a fair allocation of costs across business units and products. Providing leadership and direction to the strategy and group team, you'll guide all financial aspects not covered by other teams within the department. Collaboration with stakeholders across the organisation will be key to ensuring effective cost management and stakeholder engagement, fostering a cohesive and efficient operational environment.

As a Senior Finance Business Partner at NFU Mutual, we are seeking candidates with a diverse skill set to excel in this dynamic role. Key skills include exceptional stakeholder management capabilities, allowing you to build and maintain strong relationships with senior executives and business leaders. Your ability to influence decision-making processes through compelling storytelling and data-driven insights will be instrumental in driving strategic initiatives forward.

Strong prioritisation skills are essential to effectively manage competing demands and ensure that critical tasks are completed on time and with precision. Attention to detail is paramount, as accurate financial analysis and reporting are crucial to informing key business decisions. Furthermore, adaptability is key in navigating the evolving landscape of the insurance and financial services industry.

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience in finance business partnering roles.

  • Proven track record of success in FP&A, financial analysis, and stakeholder management.

  • Financial knowledge of modelling, analysis, evaluation and forecasting with strong analytical skills and attention to detail, in order to drive commercial insight.

  • Strong strategic and critical thinking with the ability to apply business acumen to translate complex financial data into actionable insights and recommendations.

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the organisation.
