Full Job Description

  • Produce customer documentation for the lifecycle of the project including handover certification, Be able to input accurate data into multiple spreadsheets - Excel, Google Sheets etc

  • Process and manage weekly payroll for approximately 11 employees

  • Maintain accurate financial records and prepare monthly reports

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable

  • Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions

  • Prepare and submit weekly PAYE HMRC, monthly CIS and VAT returns

  • Work closely with the directors to identify areas for improvement

  • Customer focused, service orientated, · Answering the telephone and dealing with requested information


  • · Calling customers to arrange installations and scaffolding (including changes to plans)

    · Assisting customers with basic technical issues in relation to their solar installation

    · Producing paperwork for our installations team

    · Producing paperwork for our customers

    · Raising numerous certifications and warranties for completed installations

    · Assisting with the integration of software into daily practices for a paperless office/installations team

    · Raising/chasing and finalising applications for district network operators

    · Managing multiple email inbox accounts

    · Calling customers for feedback

    Book keeping Duties:

    · Maintain complete and accurate financial records for the company, including sales, purchases, payments, and receipts

    · Monitor and reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial documents to ensure accuracy

    · Prepare and maintain general ledger entries.

    · Reconcile general ledger accounts.

    · Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures. Posting journal entries, reconciling accounts and ensuring up to date financial records.

    · Process and record bills, payments, and receipts. Raise invoices reconcile accounts payable and receivable balances.

    · Follow up on outstanding invoices for timely collections.

    · Accurately calculate and process weekly employee payroll, including deductions, taxes and benefits. Reconcile net wages, pensions and PAYE payments.

    · Ensure compliance with payroll regulations.

    · Verification of CIS subcontractors with the Inland Revenue. Deduction of tax from NETT subcontractors and record keeping for monthly return to HMRC. Issue of monthly tax deducted statements to all NETT subcontractors.

    · Generate and prepare financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements to provide valuable insights to support decision making.

    · Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and relevant laws and regulations.

    · Compile VAT returns and other tax-related activities.

    Other duties will include

    · Corresponding with suppliers, customer and clients (email and telephone)

    · Organising files

    · Supporting other staff

    Please note, if successful, A DBS check will be required prior to appointment and a 5 year checkable work history.

    We are looking for the right person to invest in, for someone who has good all round administration and book keeping skills. Confident in their own ability, that can turn their hand to any task and who is looking for a long-term stable role. Excellent telephone manner and attention to detail are an absolute must!

    The ideal candidate will have a passion for numbers and a keen eye for detail, with a proven track record in a small business with administration, bookkeeping and VAT.,

  • Thrive in a fast-paced work environment, embracing challenges and maintaining productivity, · Minimum 5 years' experience in Book keeping or accounting with Xero


  • · Minimum of AAT/NVQ qualification in Accounting or Finance

    · Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations

    · Proficiency in Xero and Microsoft Office

    · Good telephone manner and communication skills

    · Excellent administration and organisational skills

    · Ability to work well with minimal supervision

    Desirable:

    Knowledge of DNO (Distribution Network Operator) administration

    Knowledge of Renewable Energy/Solar PV,
