A bit about the role

Do you have a strong background in children's residential care? Are you focused and passionate about changing the lives of children and young people for the better? We have a unique opportunity for a therapeutic residential worker to join our team.

We are looking for Children's Therapeutic Residential Worker to become a part of our family home and care for our children and young people with some complex emotional challenges. You will need to be dynamic, patient, empathetic and understanding during their times of difficulty and have the ability to inspire them grow and flourish. The role can be emotionally and physically challenging, however you will have a positive impact upon the lives of our young people.

The Therapeutic Practitioner role encompasses all aspects of care for our young people including supporting the development of their independence, social and life skills and working with the team to provide a safe and secure environment and loving homes for them to live and thrive in.

What you'll be doing:

In the role of Therapeutic Residential Worker, you will be promoting Action for Children's values as well as supporting the Registered Manager and team to achieve positive outcomes in the lives of our young people.

How you'll help to create brighter futures

  • Having a positive proactive outlook in providing support to children.

  • Taking responsibility for the personal care and the daily needs of the young people.

  • Being resilient in supporting children through challenging situations.

  • Being responsible for the safeguarding of young people.

  • Maintaining accurate records of children's stays.

    Are you resilient and have a positive approach to change and challenge? We're looking for someone with a 'can do' attitude to join our team. Ideally you'll have:

  • Level 3 Diploma in ResidentialChild Care or equivalent

  • A positive and confident approach to engaging with children and young people.

  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.

  • Provide emotional and social support to children and young people who can display challenging emotional and social difficulties.
